Our apartment!

Our complex
Our gate

Our building
How perfect that our girls get to live in a "pink castle" as Katie put it!

Our front door
(by the way, the people in the pictures are our friends who helped us get the apartment)

Our living room (view from the front door)
So exciting to have a sunny home!

Looking back at the front door from the living room area

Our kitchen
WAY more awesome than I anticipated!

Our washer
We'll be line drying our clothes.  Poor Adam laments this reality as he remembers how all of his tshirt necks got stretched out from doing this when we lived over here before.  Any tips on preventing this phenomenon?

The other side of our kitchen
You can see the burners but no oven since locals don't do much baking. We hope to purchase a small oven once we get over there.
Amazing storage area off the kitchen.  Super excited about this!

First bathroom (that's right, there are two!)
There are so many things about this bathroom that totally exceeded my expectations (more than we could ask or imagine, right?)  Thankful there's a western toilet, but most amazed that there is actually a rim around our shower that keeps the water from flooding the rest of the bathroom.  When we lived here before, the bathroom floor was the shower, which meant that we had to mop the bathroom after our shower every day if we wanted to go in there later without getting our feet wet.  You might notice the strategic placement of the trashcan by the potty...no flushing tp here!  That'll be one trashcan that's definitely emptied daily....

The girls bedroom
It came with a double bed which unfortunately the landlord says he won't remove.  This presents somewhat of a problem since we promised Katie we could get bunk beds.  We'll see how much room we have to work with once we get there.  We gladly welcome any design and decorating advice!

Another shot of the girls' room...love the sun!

The 2nd bathroom
I'm pretty sure this one is off the master bedroom, pretty nice AND it has a bathTUB!  Another unexpected bonus!

The master bedroom
Another view of the master
View from our living room window
Our apt overlooks a primary school play area...I'm excited I can see trees!!!!  And has anyone else noticed that there is actually BLUE sky in these pictures.  Wow.
A closer shot of the temple that is just beyond the primary school
While there are lots of temples in this country, most folks here are nonreligious.  When we lived here before and asked people about their beliefs, "I believe in myself."
View of the grounds around our apartment...grass and places to run and play and bike, hooray!

As you can see, we have MANY reasons to give thanks for this awesome place to live.  We can't wait to meet our neighbors and to settle into this place that has been prepared for us.

Awesome! Looks better than UPA!! HA. Yes, I have a suggestion for your streched out necks, buy a dryer!! You can find a little swan brand for a hundred bucks, well worth it!!!

:)

Hey Adam, hang your t-shirts on the line upside down. That way, the bottom gets stretched out instead of the neck. :-)
